Greater Brass Scorpion WIP

Mostly painted now, but some tidying and highlights needed for the panels (and the claws to finish). The scheme is a mix of Iron Warriors, Black Legion and my Dark Mech scheme so I can include this beast with the three armies - more pics soon when the painting is completed.

First Squad of Kastelans Completed

I found these on Cults as 'Krabs'. Intended for use as Breachers or Destroyers, I made some new weapon options and uses them as my 'Danger Will Robinson' alternatives for my Dark Mech.

GF9 Orbital Relay

I recently bought one of the new GF9 Gothic Sector, Battlefield in a Box items, and I'd thought I'd share what it looks like. It's well painted for a mas market prepaint, and the magnets, and predrilled holes are a great idea, and make this so much more likely to get to the table intact.

Pert-a-Daemon WIP

Based on a failed print of the "Iron Daemon" mixed with some wings from one of the Dark Mech models to covered the damaged area, and the head from a Defiler. This was printed at the STL's default size which is definitely shrimpy for a Daemon Primarch, but spot of for a Daemon Prince.

Storm Eagle Done

Completed over a week ago, but haven't time to photograph it. Work is continuing on the Iron Warriors and the Dark Mech, but nothing to show just yet.

Black Legion Terminators

I think I mentioned this before, but I'm lending an army to a friend who's flying in from Germany. He's borrowing my Black Legion, so I thought I should finish up some of my old models from 2012. In the case of these Terminators, it was get the bases finished, which are now done! Dark Apostle and friends

This is yet another model I started years ago but never finished - you can see WIP shot from back in 2014. Originally I won the incomplete body of the DA in a bit box price at an Animosity event, some bits from my bits box, and a scratch built augmetic leg later - there we were. In the meantime, DA's gained 2 helpers  in the rules, so in keeping with the Iron Warriors, mine are ex-Spacemarine servitors - 3D print kitbashes.

Master of Executions

We'll call him Moe for short. I do have the official model, but I've never actually liked it, and when I came to put paint on it, I just couldn't see how the aesthetic fitted with the 4th Legion. I therefore grabbed some 3D printed bits, found a skin cloak (which was too long, but otherwise great) and cracked on.

Here's what I threw together, sadly no axe, but I think it looks a lot more thematic than the proper model.

Decimator complete after a decade

Yet again, another of my veteran units, one that I posted up almost 10 years ago to the day (https://fortwargame.blogspot.com/2014/10/one-in-ten.html) is now complete. I could have done more, but I matched it to my Soul Burner equipped trio and left it at that.

Ardaric Vaanes

Those that have read Graham McNeill's work featuring Warsmith Honsou and Uriel Ventris will be familiar with Ardaric Vaanes, the Renegade Raven Guard. Since my army for Apocalypticon will feature Honsou and some of his inner circle, I thought I'd add this old 3d print of Vaanes.

Defiler - completed at long last

This is another model that's been somewhat done for a decade, but it now finally completed! 

Black Legion - WIP but parked for now

I have a friend visiting from Germany for Apocalypticon, and due to baggage limits can't bring his army. I've therefore offer to lend him my Black Legion, with some Sons of Horus first company vehicles to make up the points. They are black and gold too right? Whilst looking at the options for the squads now, I found my 5th edition marines were now illegal - 2 melta guns, totally heretical! Therefore I temporarily solved this by splitting my 2x10 squads into 4x5. Now the sane approach would be to replace the guns or the guys and live with the 2 spare marines, but I'm not sane. I therefore printed a load of bits, raided my CSM spares pile and now have equivalent of 4 squads. The plan will be to swap the extra melta guns from the existing marines for 2 of the heavy weapons shown below to have 4 full squads. The Long War continues.

Backpacks are off for painting.

World Eaters - next year?

One option I looked at for Apocalypticon was taking my World Eaters using the new dex. I have a lot of big Khornate vehicles (old Armourcast etc), and my Blood Pact are obviously followers of the Blood God. In the end, I went with my beloved Iron Warriors, but maybe next year, it'll be these guys? I had scooped some extras on Ebay, so just showing them here in the state in which they have gone back into storage for now.

3 Bikers, they've lost their chainaxes, but I've printed some spares. I haven't fitted them yet as I'm waiting to see if they come back into the codex, and what their options are now.

Some nicely painted Bezerkers, just need to sort the bases. The weapon options are now illegal, but given the unit has very few options now, they are just regular guys with a Bolt Pistol and a chain weapon when they hit the tabletop.

A rescue project, I printed some Mk4 legs and brought some of these back to spec.

More serious work - almost all printed with old heads, but it gave me chance to add eviscerators to a few squads. 

A champion, which after raiding the spares box can be rebuilt.
