Wave Serpent Rescue Part 2

Following on from the last post, here's how the Wave Serpent looks now.

The list of work that I've carried out is as follows:

  • Printed a Shuriken cannon and attached it via magnets.
  • Replaced the turret heavy weapon mounts with metal rods, so I can swap out the weapons
  • Printed new heavy weapon covers
  • Printed a new aerial
  • Printed new vanes
  • Printed a FW style crystal mount to make this look a little different.

Wave Serpent and War Walker - Ebay Rescue

The other week I scored this Wave Serpent and War Walker cheaply on eBay but in terrible shape! Excuse the tiny picture, I can't get a better one from eBay now. The War Walker had both legs fitted backwards, but after stripping, and rebuilding, we get this:

The weapon mounts are 3d printed. I've got a file to print a new canopy, just need to load some clear resin into the print (I have clear blue to try), and to raid the spares box for guns, I'm feeling this one should be double missiles!

The Wave Serpent needed a lot of work too, and tonnes of soaking in isopropyl. I've had to carve out the driver, and will leave him out - he's too far gone. On the plus side, this means I can use the original canopy, as I'll be painting it since the innards are missing. I've removed all the upper body panels, and have reattached them in the right place now. Sadly I broke off the guns while stripping, but I'll make them detachable by drilling in some rod. I've some some stl files to replace the front 'fronds', the turret aerial and the gun covers. I'm also deciding if I want to break out a different loadout too, star cannons maybe? I also need to raid the spares box, or find stls for the underslung guns.

Proteus Pattern Achilles

I recently found this on a 3D site, and had to have one for my Iron Warriors! I love the old style Land Raider with the more 40k weapons, makes me feel like my army is a survivor from the Heresy.

Warhammer World Game + Easter Eggs

Just a few pics from our game at Warhammer World, and some shots from the gallery, along with a couple of the eggs they had added to the displays - we didn't photograph all of them.

Incubi - last two

This week we went to Warhammer World to get a bigger game in - sadly due to illness and sudden calls into work, we ended up short handed, but still had a good time. In addition, we got the person who got me into Warhammer to play 40k, for the first time since Rogue Trader - result! Hopefully he'll now be borrowing my figures to play some Crusade missions. Anyway, for the game I needed another 2 Incubi, so finally complete 2 very old models. The caped one needed a new back pack, and the one I had for him was from a regular Incubi, so it needed to be trimmed to fit.

Corsairs - At Long Last - WIP #1

They've only been in the pile of shame for a decade! I'm finally building these, no worries that they are purely legends now. I had a few Lasblaster tips broken, and missing so I 3d printed a few to replace them. It's a shame I have 24 of these guys, all genuine FW and now I can't use them beyond friendly games but they look awesome, so there is that!

Phantom Titan rebuild - almost reassembled

Since we're looking at projects for the space elves, here's my Phantom. It now has the shoulder pads back on the correct sides, the rear fins reattached, 3d printed fins on the legs and sword arms and on one of the guns, not shown here. Next task is to reattached  the gun arm and then begin repairing paint work.

Dark Eldar Knight Undercoated

Since we're doing Aeldari knights this week, he're the update on my Dark Eldar Wraithknight, now finally with hands and a sword from the Wraathknight kit,  and a shield built from some 3d printed parts, designed to make a variant knight.

Bright Stalion WIP #1

I've finally started work on this, for which I've had bits loitering around for years - a 40k scale Bright Stallion model. Essentially it's one and a half Wraithknights, with a 3d printed, body, head and some detail parts. I'll post up the next update once the torso is completed.
