Lavuran/Mordian Heavy Weapons Team

This is another model that's been half completed, and sitting in the hobby room for ages - I think I started it about 9-10 years ago, and has been constantly getting knocked and broken. Looking back, I posted it in 2017 as a WIP, but even then said it had been done years earlier. Anyway, after a super quick repair and paintjob on the loader, it's done and in the figure cabinet for the time I actually work on my Lavuran Guard Regiment of the Astra Militarum.

Blood Slaughterer Impaler finished

This has been hanging around my desk for months, and constantly breaking! It's been pinned more times than a donkey's tail, and the face has had to be reconstructed as the original got broken, so I wanted it painted, based and in the Detolf! Rather than go with the bright red of my other Khornate units, I went with the same scheme as on my Reaver titan - I'm hoping if Dark Mech come out, then this is the scheme I'll use. It's a Legio Mortis and Sons of Horus Justaerin/Reaver relatable scheme so it will also get some cross army usage I hope.

Sons of Horus For Rakallian Wars

I promised update on why I was painting more Sons of Horus, well in a few hours I'll be off to a Rakallian Wars event in Salisbury. I've never done one of these before, but I've heard good things, and these guys even give a mini for attending, who has special rules and can be used at the event itself! The mini is an Imperial Army type chap who joins one of your units - pretty cool eh? The figure itself was 3d printed (or printed and cast, but it's a nice figure anyway). I've included mine below. The 2 Reavers are the last pair from the squad I started last year, and the Mk.6 Tac squad were from E-bay. I had to add a few bits, do repairs and I painted the bases to match my army but I got the edge colour wrong for the colour I'm now using - oh well!

Sons of Horus Lupercal Tank

It's been almost a year since I started printed the Lupercal tanks I only shared photos once I had them mostly assembled, so I thought I should get some paint on at least one of them. Since I've off for my second game of v2 Heresy next weekend at an event (more details of that later) I thought I should do the SoH one since that's the army I'm using.

After this week, things will go back to quiet mode most likely. Since some point in the latter half of last year, I've not pretty much stopping gaming - I tried 9th ed Crusade and one game of HHv2 plus the Cold War Commanders event but apart from that not much. On top of that, we've now accepted an offer on out house, and have made an offer on a smallholding - so things are likely to be crazy busy for a few months.

40k Larp

I recently attended a 40k LARP called Death Unto Darkness, so needed a few props. From an X-Shot water pistol I made this flamer (which got stepped on and it now being rebuilt) and a bolt pistol from an off brand foam dart pistol I bought in the pound shop years ago.

Flamer, as completed, then back in time to various phases of construction

The Bolt Pistol, sadly no before pictures.

And because it's necessary, me as a preacher of the Imperial faith

Eldar Corsair HQs

You are probably thinking that there are no Corsair HQs, even if you are running legends. This is sort of true, way back when, FW did have a Void Prince and a Void Dreamer in their publications. For the former, you used an Autarch, and for the later, I guess a Farseer or similar. As I do have some old FW Corsair models, and have printed some bits to field a few more, I really fancied making some suitable HQs, usable with modern rules, that I could run with them.

My Void Prince is from the AOS range, a Scinari Loreseeker with 3d printed jump pack, fusion pistol and head.

The Void Dreamer is also from the AOS range, an Isharann Tidecaster, also with a jump pack, new head and the staff head replaced with a singing spear tip.

The two beasts are from Kromlech and look suitably Gyrinx like, albeit bigger and more ferocious, and are just here for show.

Iron Warriors Land Raiders, Sergeants and Warpsmith

I attended the Northern Warlords team event back in the summer, just after the new CSM dex dropped. The changes in it, meant that it wasn't worth running my old list, as the Decimators were now highly likely to obliterate themselves, and a few other choices just didn't gel so well anymore. The upshot of this was I had a week to replace a part of my army with 2 Land Raiders as well as make a few chaos marines to act as sergeants for my squads. Previously I'd been using mark 4 marines with a studded pad for this role, but it was too hard to easily spot them against regular mk4.s

This is what I produced:

An IW Land Raider that has been in my attic of shame for about a decade, finally built!

An Ebay purchase, fitted with a Kromlech dozer and a few bits from the bits box.

The 3 sergeant models

My Warpsmith, who I realised had never been finished, although he's seen tournament use before.
