Horus WIP

As promised, a post every day, so today it's just a WIP, butit's the old Warmaster himself. I have to say I utterly hate this model, and if I didn't need to have it done before Sunday, I wouldn't have touched it with a barge pole. Somewhere along the line, the talons got smashed, the mace broken, and one of the small cameras lost. I've done my best to repair all but the last loss, but I really dislike all the random surface detail on this model, it doesn't work well with my quick painting style. Anyway, another update on him tomorrow.

Objectively speaking

Another item that's been waiting to be finished for years. A simple Imperial Guard objective marker using a piece that came with the old GW wrecked Rhino terrain piece. I started this for use in 5th edition, when objective markers were still cool, and parked it until they were cool again in 8th.

Dretch

First fully painted 3D printed figure, a resin Dretch for Pathfinder, (it's more a D&D style one).

Blood Pact Pack Howitzers, finally done!

Yes after almost 6 years, these are finally done! Also, these are 40k, which I said I'd try and deliver today! I hope you appreciate the effort! ;)

Stock items

Another Reaper Bones Ks 3 item, a set of stocks. Hopefully more 40k tomorrow!

Nice Rack!

I know you folks like 30K/40k stuff best (at least that's what page views tells me), and I promise more is coming but none of the projects I'm completing are ready for photos yet. To be honest, one that is ready managed to break on the way to the photo table, so needs repairs first! :( In the meantime, here's another Reaper Bones item, which was part of the Bones 3 Kickstarter.

Resin Printer

In addition to my filament printer, I now have a resin one too. I've started printing a variety of item which need a higher quality than the FDM one can manage. Here are a few examples, which have yet to be cleaned up.  From left to right:

Put them in the Iron Maiden!

Excellent! Another Reaper Bones figure, the iron maiden from 77443: Torture Equipment 2. Painted in gold so it can double as a sarcophagus.

Get to the chopper!

He's a rather large Orc from the Reaper Bones line, 77431: Orc Chopper (2H Axe).

Walk the Dinosaur

One of many plastic dinosaurs I bought from our local B&M store. Given a blast of Dullcote, some brown ink wash and a light stone drybrush, followed by a base, he's now ready to be used as a smaller Dinosaur adversary.

3D Printing

Just a small announcement to say I've now got a small 3D printer, an Ender 3, and here's my first print, done at draft quality, before getting into tweaking settings. Yes, some bits need correction, but I have a better profile to try out, and just need to get to grips with Cura.

Just a simple, largish 28mm crate. I'll be experimenting and hopefully making some more 28mm items soon.

Nobody Does it Better

Well they probably do, but this is my take on Reaper's  50010: Daniel Sterling, Secret Agent of GUARD. I suspect if I ever get around to playing a Delta Green game, he'll earn his keep then.

Snakepit - completed

...and no sign of Slash.

Ok, so here's some more fantasy terrain, a snake pit with a removable prisoner. It's "TOR7 The Snake Pit 2017" from Alternative Armies as mentioned before.

Marrakech Express

Just a quick paint job on 50086: Moroccan Merchant from Reaper. Ideal for use in Hollow Earth Expedition or Call of Cthulhu, because he has such an Indiana Jones film NPC look to him.

Pack Howitzer Crew 5/6 Done - WIP

Completed 5/6 of the crew for the pack howitzers, not totally happy with these, but they are close enough to my other infantry. I had issues with the spray I used to paint them red, which went 'bobbly' on some areas of the models, and I didn't thin my red enough when highlighting, so it's rather patchy. Hey-ho, need to crack on with new projects, so these will have to do for now.

Spy Hard

Ingrid is now complete, hopefully find some use for her in a game soon!

More Reaper Bones scatter terrain, this time Table and Benches (77319).

Snakepit WIP

And no sign of Slash, just a naked lady having issues with snakes! She's not painted yet, so not in this photo, but I'll do some proper photos showing the interior later. The interior wall was smooth, so I added stonework texture by painting it on, I think it looks ok. Also some of the snakes had air-bubbles which I've filled since taking this photo.

Model is from Alternative Armies (TOR7).

Torture Device

From one of the Bones dungeon terrain packs, Torture Equipment 1 (77442), here's a the torture table. I'll be posting the other items as I complete them.

Spy WIP

I got sidetracked whilst doing some other work...a WIP of a Reaper figure, Astrid Berger (50148).

Should have the last details and the base done for a post in the next few days.

Dwarven King

Another item from the Reaper Bones line (77570 Dwarf King on Throne) that I was tinkering with whilst waiting for other stuff to dry - almost done now, just the King himself to complete, then a splash of Dullcote.

Gray/Grey Ooze

Another mound of left over greenstuff posing as a Pathfinder monster!

Elven Statue

I decided to quickly make this to remember our GM's long standing NPC who died fighting a Green dragon...I won't mention my lack of diplomacy in the run up to the fight...I might have threatened to make some new Green hide boots...

(yes I did too! Always deliver on your promises, kids! ;) )

Elf model is from the Reaper Bones line (Lindir, Elf Archer - 77021), and the base is from Blotz (https://blotz.co.uk/), who have great service and are lovely people - I've met them twice at wargames shows!

Pack Howitzer crews WIP

After many years, I'm trying to complete my Blood Pact (count as mortars) pack howitzers. 2 out of 3 bases are done, and now I'm starting the crew.

Or what to do with some left over greenstuff! Nice to be able to pop these out in Pathfinder games though.

Drow Cleric of Nocticula

This the cleric of Nocticula figure from the old Pathfinder module Dark Elf Sanctum. Painted a while back for our PF game, but I never got to photograph her.

For completeness sake, two of the other figures have seen service as Dark Eldar objective markers back in 5th ed - I'm now really wishing I hadn't given away the adventure that came with this set!
