Slasha WIP 1

I've managed to catch COVID again - so we're isolating, without lunches in my case because Tesco delivery substituted out all the things I needed for my lunches - oh well! I've had 3 jabs, so this is not as bad as it could have been, but I have on-off flu symptoms and I'm just totally bereft of any energy,

Anyway, when I wasn't feeling like moving was too much of a hard thing - I took this, progress shot on my two Slasha Gargants (one has only half a body - not shown here so far). The half body suffered a major print failure, so is being cut and shut with a good bit from a reprint. As if all this wasn't challenge enough, my Anycubic Photon Mono has suffered a screen failure, so I've repaired the old Photon and I'm having to use that for some bits for the Hueys.

Something big for the new year?

Just a teaser, but something bigger than the Mekboy Gargant is coming!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all my readers, I hope Santa brings you loads of gaming goodies! Since it's a day of big things, here's the new Mekboy Gargant, assembled via Blu-tac to show off all the gubbinz.

Mekboy Gargant Pt1.

Since I've had a little bit more free time, I've managed to get the Ender 5 working again - the 3 refused to start properly with a broken microswitch. That's on order, while in the meanwhile the 5 is buys cranking out a Mekboy Gargant. Posed here next to a Stompa I'm doing an Ebay rescue job on, it'll be on the table top using the Kustom Stompa rules. Gun and chainsword arms, and a Lifta-Droppa on the hydraulic arm.

I have a couple of Slasha Gargants sliced and ready to print, but they are behind a second Skullhamma.

Great Gargant - not done, but done for now.

It's still not 100% done as the crew are still unfinished, and the CC arm is untouched - I'm torn between rebuilding it with a second saw disc or replacing it with a lifta droppa arm. As I'm not likely to need it until November for Apocalypticon UK, I'll take a while to decide.

Here are some shots of it before it got packed away until the next Apoc game.

Gargant - painting started

Just a catch up post really - I took these photos a few days ago and the gargant is actually more complete, but I'm pressed for time at the moment.

Before the paint was applied, here's the shoulder turret

Inspired by this I started 4 slightly bigger nes for the MegaGargant project

Observation platform with more detail

Big Shoota final location

Painting begins - same winter scheme as my other Blood Axes

What's that coming over the hill, is it a Gargant?

Yes - we're starting to get this one ready for the paint shop - sadly just as I go back to work so won't have any painting time, as my weekends are still full of the house that's never fixed! :(

Today's progress:

Gaze of Mork wires/piping

More exhausts, plates, patches and a door with a port hole!

Front view of the head - with that drooping brow and a monocle with trailing pipe on the right, it looks like Patrick Moore!

Observation platform, complete with wind speed and direction indicator and stereoscopic rangefinder! That's how Blood Axes roll!

The phallic gun was made bigger, because well he needed it!

All the gubbinz attached including the tiled/shingled roof of the grot oilers hut (behind the big exhaust).

Just needs the arms rebuilding and the right shoulder kannon turret adding.

It's Grrrreat Gargant

Been covering the card plates with styrene ones, since Christmas - it's getting tiring now.Oh and don't mention rivets - seriously! I've had a little fun adding engine details and some platforms at the back for Grot Oilers and Riggers - quite a bit more to do and I'm working on the house all this week and back at work on Monday! :(

Gargantuan Christmas!

Well it's Christams Day and I'm waiting for the Turkey to cook, so I have some time to post up another Ork related blog article! A few weeks back I bought this Gargant on ebay - it's a brilliant build given it's made from card and household items. However, it doesn't quite fit the Great Gargant datasheet we use (it's Great Gargant sized but armed more like a Slasha) and the rivets are rather large being made via a regular office hole punch.

So here's the Gargant as bought (the arms are removable which is good for transport).

And here's the start of the changes - rivets being removed prior to re-plating some areas with styrene sheet and smaller rivets.

Mega!

I'm busy in the new job at the moment, so modelling time is quite limited, and what I have will be used to get more stuff done for my GWM projects. Ergo, here's something I began a few weeks back, and will be slowly completed as we head towards November for Animosity's Ullanor event. Of course, it's the start of a Mega-Gargant!
