Necrons - Imperium Magazine

To clear away some stuff, I raced through some of the sprues of Necrons from Imperium magazine, which I've occasionally purchased.

 Like the Arbites, I've been 3d printing a load of extra bodies to use up the spare bits, and then going over board so I now own 90 Corsairs - but luckily another big player at Barnhammer- detail once we get moved and paint starts landing on these models.

Here are the KT Voidscarred, photos are fuzzy - apologies but they've been packed away now.

Here are first of the 3d printed ones, using left over arms, there will be more in  the next few days.

Arbites (old and new) - Call the Law

Since we're moving very soon, I've started clearing out the loft of shame. What this means is basically clipping stuff off sprues, assembling what I can, before packing it up and sending it off to storage. The upshot of this is I can consolidate armies, get rid of cardboard boxes and then set the empty sprues aside to recycle (now GW is doing this - hooray).

Coinciding with this has been a few deliveries of some new stuff for my Arbites force - something that will be a large component of the first Barnhammer event (probably next year now).

Here are the assembled minis from the new Kill Team box.

I built them mostly as the specialist, as I had a number of other figures to use to fill out squads. Here are my old metal Arbites, on 28mm adapters, along with a 3d printed Arbites type figure. As you can see I never even finished painting the original squad.

Here's a size comparison between old, new and another 3d printed version.

The latter printed versions are great for using up left over bits from the KT box, and then for rounding out the squads with some printed heads and guns etc. So far I have a full 10 of these maul and shield guys, 8 more shotgunners, another leader type with a Voxcaster, a medic an a few others to make into heavy and special weapons versions. I'll post pics when they are further along.

Thousand Son Vehicles

I recently bought these awesome Thousand Sons vehicles from my friend - King Fluff. I've always wanted to build a 40k scale Doomwing, but now no longer need to as I have this. The work is as ever top notch, so I'll need to get out my a-game to finish the Rhinos. Also having the old FW dreadnought is another thing off my collect them all list! Just the Black Legion one to go!

Hope you are all having a good week? We've finally found a new place to live with a new outbuilding, which is ideal for gaming in the summer months! Expect some updates over on the other blog (https://bigtoys40k.blogspot.com/), it's space for big games!

This DP was started about 10 or so years back, when I was still in Canada (another of those ones). He's a mix of plastic pieces, wings, front torso, arms and head from the previous kit. The legs were from an old Blood Bowl Minotaur, which was something I'd been given in a trade, but never the torso. I remember collecting these when I came back to the UK one Christmas to take back to Vancouver to finish this build. The back of the model is just layers of Greenstuff, sculpted to look as much like the fur on the Minotaur as I could manage. Here we are a decade older and he's finally painted, first fully done piece for my Emperor's Children, half of which as old as this is.
